Where It all Begins!

Collaborating with a silk mill to create pieces that highlight the beauty of deadstock yarns involves a seamless blend of craftsmanship and sustainability. Deadstock yarns are the end-of-cone remnants, typically consisting of shorter lengths of silk that are too small for the mill to use in large-scale production. By repurposing these leftover materials, the collaboration not only minimizes waste but also showcases the rich texture and natural sheen of the silk. These deadstock yarns are transformed into unique, luxurious items that emphasize their intricate qualities. The partnership focuses on elevating the visual appeal of the yarn through creative designs, enhancing its softness, and ensuring durability while celebrating its organic elegance. This union of tradition and modern artistry creates a stunning collection that highlights the inherent beauty of deadstock silk yarns, giving new life to what would otherwise be discarded.

Inspirations For These Pieces

For each of my projects, I create a mood board to show and begin to break down forms into woven structures, colours and inspirations.
