Combining Sustainability With Colour

As part of a collaboration project, I am currently designing silk scarfs that are digitally printed.

Through extensive research, we have found that most waste from the dyeing process is from water and dye waste. By digitally printing these samples, we can create unique images with an ikat style and experiment with design and colour choices, helping reduce wastage simultaneously.

The Process

In the age of modernisation, this collection explores minimal water and dye wastage but with a twist from the other projects. By utilizing Center of Advanced Textiles we have been able to print directly only warps displaying a multitude of different colours reflected in our local landscape, using only a teaspoon and a half of dye. Enjoy the range of colours and these unique one of a kind scarfs knowing that they have minimal impact on the environment!

Kaleidoscope of Colours

With a different array of colours within each piece, each stands to be unique to your requirements. They are made with the finest silks and a bold geometric design across the scarf, giving it a reversible pattern.
